TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
Biological studies have shown that 4-(Arylthio)-pyridin-2(1H)-ones have potent HIV-1 specific reverse transcriptase inhibitory properties. These compounds decreased the number of virus products by the cell line CEM-SS which was infected by HIV-1 resistant to Neviparine and more specifically decreased the activity of the HIV-1 reverse transcriptase.
The most active ones inhibit the replication of HIV-1 at 3 and 6 nM.
