CONTEXT
Carbon Nanotubes (CNT) production implies the use
of metallic catalyst that can modified and diminish intrinsic electrical,
thermal and magnetic properties of the CNTs and consequently alter the
performances of CNT-based composites or devices. Various purification
procedures have been developed to eliminate the catalyst content from CNT
samples but up to date the available methods consume a non negligible part of
the CNTs (often up to 90%) and lead to damaging the CNT structure by oxidation
or functionnalization of their surface; all these structure defects are harmful
to the NTC properties.
