The equipment has a detector producing a light signal when a particle beam passes through a fiber-optic network that comprises a plane of parallel kuraray scintillating optical fibers e.g. square fibers. An image sensor e.g. charge coupled device (CCD) sensor and complementary MOS sensor, is coupled with the detector to output a signal that represents characteristics of the light signal. Optical fiber ends of the network are reassembled in a detector output to form an image of the signal in the plane of the sensor, where the sensor is integrated in a CCD digital camera.
