CONTEXT

Due to their exceptional combination of mechanical, thermal, chemical and electronic properties, carbon nanotubes are considered as unique materials, with very promising future applications. However, so far, potential biological applications of carbon nanotubes as platform for delivery of therapeutic agents have been very little explored mainly because of their lack of solubility in physiological solutions.
