TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
This invention describes an original method to prepare a new class of submicronic particles with a controlled size (100-200 nm). The extremely rapid method of production includes simply mixing two polymeric aqueous solutions. This direct method does not require any further purification. Yields are above 95%. Neither organic solvents nor surfactants are required. Particles can thus be prepared at room temperature or any temperature between 4 and 50°C. The particles contain cyclodextrins, which entrap of a variety of compounds with an affinity for them. Encapsulation is based on the same, simple, one-step procedure. Remarkably, the particles can be lyophilized with no cryoprotectors.
