TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
This invention describes a method for the in vitro preparation of a synthetic multi-layer structure comprising biopolymer fibers oriented in a magnetic field. Within each layer the fibers have a preferred orientation, and the relative orientations of adjacent layers can be chosen at will. The invention also relates to biological tissue-like multi-layer structures comprising the synthetic multi-layer structure and cells inoculated therein, such as an orthogonal collagen fibril multi-layer as in corneal stroma, and the method for its preparation.
