TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
The present invention describes a small sized catheter for ultrasound imaging of a cavity.
The catheter includes a proximal end located outside of the patient, a distal end located close to the tissue to be investigated, and a portion connecting these two ends. The distal end includes a guide wire and a ultrasound-transparent capsule which is with a piezoelectric transducer and a mirror to deflecting the ultrasonic wave. The transducer is driven by rotation with a microactuator and the mirror is placed directly on this microactuator.
