TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
This invention describes a process for realizing two-dimensional separations of complex mixtures by capillary electrophoresis. The same capillary is used for two dimensions. The interest of this invention is to make it possible two-dimensional separations in capillary format using only one capillary (discarding the technical difficulty of coupling two capillaries one each other). This new type of separation cumulates the advantages of miniaturized supports and the peak capacity of two-dimensional separations, including easy quantification, automatisation, and on line coupling with detectors.
