TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
The invention describes a new process to restore images and movies. The visual appearance of the picture is enhanced by a noise filtering algorithm. With this process sensors can be used, whose internal or photonic noise is four times higher than usualy and to filter out the noise produced by other restoration tools. The innovation is based on a powerful algorithm called Non Local which for every pixel i looks for similar pixels of i and computes an average of these similar pixels. The similarity between two pixels is computed by taking a similarity window around each one and comparing both windows.
