TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
This invention describes an innovative a method which enhances fluorescent emission. This new approach is based on active substrates composed of nano-roughened metallic thin-films covered with a spacer layer prepared from common =glass slides. Emitted fluorescence intensity can be greatly increased, by approximately two orders of magnitude, by replacing existing microscope glass-slides by this active substrate.
