CONTEXT
Renal cell carcinoma (RCCs) represent each year approximately 5% of new cancer cases. These cancers are particularly difficult to diagnose and still a subject of several therapeutical approaches. Besides first line surgery, a limited number of monoclonal antibodies directed against human RCCs have been described and reported in the literature (most studied is G250 antibody). However, none of these antibodies has the qualities required for diagnosis, imaging and therapy of human RCCs. Therefore, there is still a need to obtain new monoclonal antibodies with highly specific diagnosis and therapeutic effects.
