TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
Low molecular weight glycolipidic molecules (MW ca. 2500) from the envelop of Mycobacteria are described as anti-inflammatory agents. They block the secretion of inflammatory cytokines including TNF and Interleukin 12 p40 upon stimulation of primary macrophages with LPS. The synthesis of such molecules has been described.
