MALEIMIDES MOLECULES : INHIBITORS OF TRANSPOSASE AND VIH INTEGRASE ACTIVITY
Principal investigator : Marie Claude VIAUD-MASSUARD

CONTEXT

Several transposases or retroviral integrases are DDD and DDE enzymes. They have a similar core structure at their catalytic site.

Their activity is consisting in moving DNA sequences within the genome.

For biotechnological applications, these enzymes are good candidates to develop vectors for insertional mutagenesis and gene delivery in animals.

Today the most known enzymes used as biotechnological tools are Sleeping Beauty (from fish), Tol2 (from Medaka fish), PiggyBac (from baculovirus), Mos1 (from worm) …

While looking for inhibitors of Mos1 (MLE family), Mrs Viaud-Massuard research team has selected chemicals inhibiting DDD and DDE enzymes.
