PLANT PEPTIDE WITH ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY
Principal Investigator : P. GALLOIS

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

This invention describes the identification of a 25 amino acids peptide isolated from Arabidopsis thaliana. The primary sequence of this peptide presents close similarities to the sequence of antimicrobial peptides from the Hok/Gef family. According to this observation, experiments measuring the toxicity of this plant peptide showed a marked biological activity against plant-specific pathogenic microorganisms, such as Xanthomonas campestris and Pseudomonas syringae.
