TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
The invention is a new family of fluorescent molecules, characterized by a good stability, high fluorescence quantum yields (>50%) and strong absorption. Moreover these molecules have very large Stokes' shift for reasonable size molecule, allowing their grafting on biological material. Their absorption and emission can be tuned at will, for example one compound absorbed at 370 nm ( 40000) and emit strongly at 642 nm (45%). An example of labelled protein has shown a higher sensibility than standard systems, without use of specific filters. The synthetic procedure used to obtain these new fluorophore is very easy and straightforward, and allowed to tune easily the absorption and the emission wavelength (excitation in UV or blue and emission red to near IR is possible).
