Process for the mass production of multiwalled carbon nanotubes |

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
The inventors have developed a process based on a catalyst allowing selective mass production of MWNTs, without any presence of other carbon by-products. This process makes purification easy, using only diluted HCl, and is therefore less time-consuming and less expensive than others. The process desribes the invention for the selective mass production of MWNTs from the catalytic decomposition of hydrocarbons, and includes reducing a non-previously reduced and non-supported precursor of a supported metallic catalyst under conditions enabling the in situ production of this catalyst and the production of these nanotubes.
