CONTEXT
Carbon Nanotubes (CNT) represent a large investigation domain due to their potential properties and all the possible applications envisaged. It has been shown that metal nanoparticles present in nanotubes samples and originating from their synthesis are linked to toxic effects observed in carbon nanotubes. Carbon Nanohorns (CNH) are produced by a metal free method and thus there are no metalic trace. So CNH could find applications instead of CNT. Additionnaly, individual CNHs, rather than aggregates present better potential for applications.
