DISSYMETRIC POLYMER-INORGANIC NANOPARTICLES
Principal Investigator: Christophe MINGOTAUD

This invention describes the elaboration of dissymmetric nanoparticles (from few nanometers to few microns) based on an inorganic beads bearing a polymer nodule. Chemical compositions as well as sizes of the two parts constituting these objects are perfectly controlled and can be easily modified. For example, silica, titanium oxide, metal and metal oxide may be used for the inorganic part and the polymer nodule may be polystyrene (cross-linked or not), polymethacrylate, vinyl acetate… Surfaces of those particles can be chemically modified depending on the application.
