TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
This invention describes a new type of optically tunable laser diode source whose wavelength is set by a temporary external injection provided by a ‘‘master'' laser. The key point of the laser diode source is to maintain the wavelength previously imposed by the master laser once the optical injection is stopped. The master laser is then available to program the wavelength of other optically tunable laser diode sources.
