TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
This invention describes a digital simulation process of a non linear interaction between an exciting source and a wave in a resonator. It can be used for the real time digital synthesis of signals representing an oscillating phenomenon such as the sound produced by a musical instrument.
The invention includes: -An efficient process of digital transcription in the time domain of the physical variables characterizing the waves in a resonator, using combinations of simple elements whose parameters are explicitly expressed as functions of the propagation medium, the geometry and the boundary conditions of the resonator. - An explicit digital process of resolution of the nonlinear equations linking the physical variables in the case of woodwind and brass musical instruments. - A real time control of digital synthesis, which makes specific use of physical playing parameters that can be piloted with standard commercial devices.
