TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
This invention describes an electroluminescent device to improve the performance of photon extraction. The invention includes two parallel mirrors for converting electron-hole pairs into photons, and means for generating electrons and holes. The converter and the 2 mirrors are designed to ensure the confinement of photons with at least one selected wavelength, associated with a guided propagation mode. In addition, the device includes light extracting means which communicates with part of the converting means and the generating means between the 2 mirrors, to extract part of the photons in guided mode, so that they reach outside.
